Hans Janitschek

dear friends -

i just met hans janitschek the foreign correspondent of the "kronen zeitung", the most read austrian daily newspaper. before working for the krone, janitschek - who has lived in the US for more than 30 years - used to work for the "kurier" and for the united nations. i saw janitschek in his apartment in 5th avenue next to central park (what a great view!), shortly before he had to visit his friend norman mailer, who is currently being hospitalized. when i left janitschek's apartment, I performed some boxing moves in the elevator, not knowing that I would be video taped by the security staff. when I left the elevator the crowd was cheering. "I hope you did not break the mirror," the guard said, laughing.

hopse or hopsi - there is some discussions going on these days about how to spell his name - is angry at me because I told langer about his new i-pod. "u took away all the surprise," he said, and announced to be more careful when telling me things in the future...
